Our Story

I am a proud Dharawal/Darug woman, and my Aboriginal heritage proudly stems from my father's side, stretching over the beautiful landscapes of Botany Bay, The Blue Mountains, and La Perouse. My ancestors migrated and moved between New South Wales and Victoria, much like my grandmother, Nan, and my Dad, which ultimately led to my being born and raised in Regional Victoria. Throughout my life, I have been instilled with a deep sense of pride in my culture, significantly influenced by the many stories shared by my beloved Nan, who, regrettably, passed away a few years ago. Her departure left me feeling as though a vital piece of my identity had been tragically taken from me. To honour her memory, I returned to country to bring my Nan back home, and it was during this journey that I discovered a profound comfort and connection through painting. Each of my paintings tells a unique story of who I am and reflects my personal experiences. This artistic expression serves as my meaningful way of connecting with my family and ancestors who are no longer with us today. It is immensely important to me to ensure that our rich culture will not be forgotten, and I aspire for future generations to proudly say, “My Nan painted this,” in reference to my own work..
